What is global warming?

Global warming refers to the current ascend in Earth’s temperature due to gradually increasing absorption of manmade green house gases like carbon dioxide production from the flaming of fossil fuels or from deforestation. Carbon dioxide traps heat and do not allow it to escape the Earth. It is also known as green house effect.

According to the viewpoint of scientific methods, the global warming is a cause of human activities such as pollution that contains a lot of Sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide. Water vapor is one of the most considerable gases of the green house. Even a small increase in the level of atmosphere of carbon dioxide, can cause extensive increase in the atmospheric temperature of Earth. There are two main constituents of the atmosphere that is, oxygen and nitrogen. Oxygen and nitrogen are not the gases of green house. The reason for which oxygen and nitrogen are not the gases of green house is that, both the gases have two molecules and thus they lack vibration modes that molecules consisting of more than two atoms comprise. Carbon dioxide has the characteristic that it remains inside the atmosphere for a long period. Water vapor, being the green house gas, can easily evaporate on any local temperatures. Thus, water vapor easily adjusts in the customary conditions.

Humanity has increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to about 13 %, and it is an extremely significance increase. This causes the global warming to increase. Human beings are considered the main reason of increase in global warming to this extent as, the increase in the global warming is perfectly associated with the increase in the burning up of fossil fuels.

The result of increased atmospheric temperature has adverse effects on the Earth and the human beings living on it. In fact, the global warming will have influential effects on our planet. Warming amend rainfall patterns, increase soil erosion, extend the growing seasons in some areas or countries, dissolve ice caps and glaciers, and also change the assortment of some infectious diseases. The global warming will result in more frequent hot days and fewer cold days. The intense heat waves from the sun will be become more common. Natural destruction will become more common and severe such as storms, floods and droughts as the rainfall patterns alter.

The effects of global warming are not limited to the weather; seas levels will also be affected. The sea levels will start rising and will corrode coasts and will cause more coastal flooding.  Significantly, global warming will adversely affect the ecosystems. The plant and animals that are living in the atmosphere both land and in the oceans are greatly affected by the adverse affects of global warming. Warmer temperatures have already shifted the cooler temperatures in some areas. The change in growing seasons have been effected the globe. In some communities, the daily temperature has become unbearable to some plants and animals. Eventually, the global warming will affect the life on Earth in many different ways.
