Global warming causes
Global warming is the phenomenon in which the earth’s temperature keeps on increasing gradually due to the man made green house gases such as carbon dioxide and Sulphur dioxide. Carbon dioxide is produced by many ways like by flaming fossil fuels or by deforestation etc. Carbon dioxide absorbs the heat radiations coming from the sun and does not the heat radiations to escape from the earth. Man has increased the amount of Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to about 13 %. This is an extensively large percentage as the earth keeps on getting hot.
Global warming is caused due to many factors. These causes are segregated in to two groups that are manmade causes and natural causes. Nature creates the natural causes. There are many natural causes for global warming. One is the discharge of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. As we know that methane is a green house gas so it traps the heat radiations from the sun in the earth and does not allow them to escape. This causes global warming. The other natural cause of global warming is the fact that earth passes through a number of climatic changes and the climate change lasts for about 40,000 years.
The most damage is caused by manmade factors that cause global warming. There are several man made factors to cause global warming. The one of the biggest cause among man made causes is pollution. Pollution has many shapes and sizes and it causes a lot of damage to the earth’s atmosphere. Flaming of fossil fuels is the cause of pollution as well as of global warming. As, when fossil fuels are flamed, they release a green house gas which is called carbon dioxide. It absorbs heat from the sun and cause global warming. Mining coal and oil also allows methane gas to escape. Methane exists naturally inside the ground. When oil or coal is mined, the earth is dug up a little and also allows methane to escape. When fossil fuels are dug they also allow methane to escape. In this way, global warming is caused.
Population is the other man made cause of Global warming. As more people needs more food and more needs of transportation. For making food, fossil fuels are flamed and agriculture is done which causes more methane. Manure is the other source of methane. As food is needed in a bulk quantity for huge population, food factories and crops are raised. Many animals such as cow are also a source of food which cause more manure and release more methane. Transportation is another problem, when population increases. Huge population means, more cars, vehicles and more population. As carbon dioxide promotes the global warming, increase in population plays a vital role in promoting global warming, as human beings breathes out carbon dioxide and inhales oxygen. These cause more carbon dioxide to release in the atmosphere and cause global warming. The trees inhale carbon dioxide, released by human beings, are also demolished which also cause global warming.
